The association of the sugar estate Springfield (pre-1800) with the Springfield in the slave registers and almanacs (post-1809) is tentative as the estate post-1809 appears to include to few enslaved people for sugar production.The Springfield estate registered to William Shaw in the almanacs of 1811 and 1812 may be the correct match with the earlier sugar estate, but no sign of this second Spring
