Both land and enslaved people owned by Montague Bennett in 1817. By the slave register of 1820 Montague had died and Joseph Bennett had inherited the enslaved people. Joseph Bennett registered them as part of Spring Garden [2] (JA9322) in the slave register and almanac of 1820. It's not clear if he annexed the Spice Grove land.
