This location references land on the Joseph Decuir estate in the 1790s. Although the plot located at T5S R10E S67 (with the reference number R&R 6) was not found in the American State Papers and the historical survey plat map lists Antoine Decuir as the owner, we assume this to be the location of the estate of Joseph Decuir in the 1790s. According to Costello (2010, p.4), "this plantation had its
genesis in 1783 when all of the property lying along False River between Bayous Lanquedoc and Cotonier was purchased at private sale by Joseph DeCuir from two Indian chiefs named Champagne and Nicolas." The plot located at T5S R11 S49 with the OB number 3 is found in the ASP which confirms Joseph Decuir's ownership claim in 1790. This estate includes two non-contiguous plots.
