Slaves in Post Mortem Estate Inventories (Q549379)

This dataset includes nominal registries of enslaved laborers and slave families from 923 post-mortem property inventories between 1821 and 1888. This dataset lists 30,533 enslaved individuals from various estates. Inventoried estates are listed by the names of the deceased estate owner and executor, as well as the name(s) and location(s) of properties (including enslaved persons) inventoried.
