Between 1674 and 1736 the estate was in the hands of the Waterman family. In 1680 the extent had been 447 acres in St Joseph and by 1699 500 acres on which there were 169 enslaved people. However, there were substantial debts and Chancery sales in 1734 and 1736-37. By 1748, the plantation was owned by William Perry of St Michael. At an unknown later date, but probably in the 1790s, the Perry plant
