North Sound, St George
Inferred association with entry in 1817 Slave Register.Sir George Thomas 3rd bart. had died in 1815 so there appears to be confusion in the Slave Registers. Vere Langford Oliver [History of Antigua, Vol. III p. 132] shows that Sir George Thomas 3rd bart. had inherited the estate at North Sound, and goes on to state 'sold his plantation of 286 acres [and 142 enslaved people] in 1802 for £22,000 to
Thomas Edwards. This implies that the estate sold was North Sound: but it appears from the series of indentures [on ibid. p. 130] that only part of the estate was carved out and sold.
