Statements
This location references land on the Benjamin Farar estate in the 1790s. The Benjamin Farrar (or Farar) estate was the largest estate in Pointe Coupee and one if not the only English language estate. Obtained by a Spanish land grant in 1788-1790, it was situated primarily within the island formed by the False River as well as to the west and south of the False River. Benjamin Farrar died in 1790
and his estate passed to his heirs and or was sold off, though exactly when and to whom is not known. Likely most of the estate was still intact and in the ownership of his heirs throughout the 1790s.
