Great River division (St Mary parish) Lot no. 25 (200 acres), purchased 09/05/1769 by James Irvine (Fowler gives 'Irwin') and still in his possession c. 1773, became the Irvine Hall estate. Not yet traced in the slave compensation records. James Irvine is not identified in records of the protracted case of Irvine v Kirkpatrick as a brother of Walter, Charles or Christopher William Irvine (each of
whom q.v.). However, the same is true of 'John Irvine', who was a partner in early land purchases in Tobago with, and presumably a close relative of, Walter Irvine.
