NB there were two Belmonts in Tobago, one in St John (originally Northeast division Lot no. 35) and the other in St George (originally Barbados Bay Lots nos. 11, 12 and 22). For Belmont in St John, the original purchasers of Northeast division Lot no. 35 (Fowler gives Lot no. 36 as well) were Alex. and Nat. Gordon; by 1773 the owner was shown as Alexander Gordon. For the lots that came to form Bel
mont in St George, the original purchasers of Barbados Bay Lots no. 11 and 12 was John Hunt on 20/05/1765 and for Lot no. 22 A. Wilson and J. Hamilton. By 1773 the Present Possessor of Lots no.11 and 12 was Thomas Orr & Co., and of Lot no. 22 Wm. Donaldson.
