This estate and the enslaved people upon it were owned by Abraham Phillips from at least 1810 to 1817. On the death of Philips the estate and enslaved people passed to Judah Phillips Levy. By 1826, Peter Breakenridge had bought the land but not apparently the enslaved people. Those settled on Phillip's Valley in 1823 probably moved to one of Judah Phillips Levy's other estates - Montpelier, Carlsru
he, Pond Piece or Trafalgar, all in Port Royal.
